Activated Carbon Filtration Systems

Activated carbon filtration systems are one of the most effective water purification systems used for the clarification of unwanted color, taste, odor, chlorine and chlorine compounds, detergents, agricultural poisons, petroleum and industrial wastes and organic substances in water.

Thanks to the large surface area of the activated carbon mineral, the water purification process is carried out with high efficiency. During water treatment, the adsorption mechanism works simultaneously with the filtration mechanism, so the activated carbon filtration system is a physico-chemical process. These fully automatic systems remove the impurities on the filter surface with a 15-20 minute automatic backwash process per day. The homogeneous flow provided in the filter bed increases the efficiency of the filtration system. Since the activated carbon media consists of microscopic pores, the solids accumulated in it cannot be thrown out by backwashing, so it is important to use mechanical filtration and pre-treatment units compatible with the system in order for the systems to be long-lasting. When activated carbon reaches saturation, it must be replaced with a new one.

Low operating cost and safe treatment opportunity are among its advantages. It is important to pay attention to factors such as the flow rate of the water, the chemical and physical properties of the activated carbon used in the filtering process, the diameter of the installation, the backwash flow rate, the contact time of the water with the activated carbon. Purification can be carried out in FRP, Epoxy painted carbon steel or stainless steel tanks in accordance with the project requirement. PLC controlled, electric or pneumatic actuated valves in the units we offer with surface piping allow the system to operate fully automatically.
